Thanksgiving Day

"Sherwood’s annual Give n’ Gobble 5K run/walk and 10K run on Thanksgiving at 9am @ the Sherwood High School stadium. The purpose of this event, besides being a great way to rev up your metabolism, is to raise money for Helping Hands, a local food bank affiliated with the Oregon Food Bank. This hugely successful annual event has raised thousands of dollars and over 10,000 lbs. of food and for Helping Hands, a local food bank. This single event funds Helping Hands' annual expenses, enabling them to provide hundreds of needy families with not only canned food and other nonperishable items, but also dairy products, and fresh fruits and vegetables. This heart-warming event has become a Thanksgiving holiday tradition, drawing runners and walkers of all ages who want to start the day doing something fun & healthy with their family & neighbors while also helping those less fortunate! Last year we had more than 1000 runners & walkers on Thanksgiving morning and are looking forward to another amazing year."

Dam. Big Dam.

This stunning course promises to quickly become one of the Nation's "Must Do" races. Running 100% on paved and packed dirt trails completely removed from vehicular traffic, you traverse the Mojave Desert running through historic railroad tunnels perched atop of a sweet view of Lake Mead. The "Money Shot" comes at your turn around with an expansive view of Hoover Dam. Almost 300 athletes took part in this inaugural event held in the Lake Mead NRA, right outside of Las Vegas. Another fine event put on by the cats at Calico Racing.
